What a Fun Packed Summer Holidays We’ve Had @ Spectrum WASP

With Summer coming to an end Spectrum WASP would like to share with you what an amazing time we’ve had over the Summer holiday

Week One commenced with a “Water Safety & Drowning prevention” Swimming lesson with qualified Swimming Instructors/Lifeguards Maria/Gemma @ Rebecca Adlington Centre sponsored by ‘Blidfest’….We felt this was an important life skill to learn with lots of Children/Young People being in and around water during the holidays

Racing through to the next activity was our ‘Extreme Sport’ with help from Grant taking part in Karting and Lazer tag in the outdoor inflatable dome which was great fun for all

Finishing off our first week with a Splash at The Mill Sailing and ‘KATA KANU’ on Open Waters

We rode into Week Two with our Family Day out at Sherwood Pines which started with a Bike Maintenance session, with Darren, followed by a Bike Ride around the Pines, our Bush Craft and Family Picnic followed in the afternoon

Dancing our way through into the second week with a  “Dance Session” with Claire @ Claire Louise School of Dance…The Children/Young People always love to share there Funky Dance moves while learning new ones….

Who doesn’t love to be beside the Seaside….Skegness was our next Family Day Trip out…Unfortunately the sun didn’t have his hat on…But that didn’t stop Fish and Chips on the Seafront for all while watching the amazing Carnival Parade passing by…

Jumping into Week Three @ I-jump with our very own Autism friendly early morning session…Bouncing was the way forward to start our new week…

Pond Dipping with Matt @Vicars Water was our next activity on the Summer Agenda…In our wellies in the pond Learning all about Nature and Pond life

Galloping through another week with Horse Riding/Grooming/Brushing and Feeding the Horses/Shetland Ponies with Debbie and the Team @ Fairview Stables…with our very special guest Sponsors popping by Sharon/Holly presenting each Child with a Rosette to mark there wonderful achievement

Twycross Zoo was the next Family Day Trip out seeing lots of different Animal’s and learning all about them and there habitat…bringing in Life Skills

Our final Week of activities began with an Autism Friendly screening of “Christopher Robin” and friends Winnie the Pooh, Piglet and Tiger @ The Odeon Cinema, with such lovely staff supporting the day for an early start..

“Family Bowling” Supported by ‘Blidfest’ is what we decided to finish off the Summer Holidays with…The Children/Young People/Siblings/Families love to bowl and we felt a party @ Superbowl was the perfect end to a great summer…

Whilst at Superbowl we had a wonderful surprise visit…from one of our Sponsor’s Peter & Anne from The Kynan Eldridge Fund who amazingly presented us with a Cheque for £500 to support our Music Therapy, Musical Instruments and Drumming sessions for our Children/Young People/Siblings

We at Spectrum WASP would like to say a “BIG THANK YOU” to everyone who helped Support and Fund our Summer holiday Programme…

…”Without YOU there would be NO US”…to bring in Miles of Smiles…
